Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the suspension of Football Manager Bobby Motaung up to 31 August over a breach of the club’s Covid-19 policies.
Bobby, who is the son of chairman and founder Kaizer Motaung, was caught on camera allegedly flouting lockdown regulations. Following an internal investigation, the club have decided to act. It is poor publicity for the club at a time when teams are preparing to enter the Gauteng bio-bubble to resume the season. Motaung’s actions could be viewed as hindering the effectiveness of that bubble. Chiefs are currently leading the Absa Premiership by four points from second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns, though they have played a game more. They return to action on 12 August with a clash against BidVest Wits.
