The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF)’s Julius Malema has declared that “now is the time for party agents,” as he demands punctuality, respect, and total honesty from those who will be overseeing the party’s ballots on Wednesday.
Malema addressed his supporters on Sunday at a rally marking the conclusion of the EFF’s campaign ahead of the 7th democratic polls set for May 29, 2024.
He said the red berets did everything possible to communicate with South Africans over recent months.
The fiery politician has set out guidelines for their agents: “Party agents are people who are dressed properly, in a respectful manner. Party agents are [people] who [have] communication skills, including communicating nicely, even to those who don’t vote for the EFF. You can’t be a party agent and be rude.”
He also requested that the sharpest minds be on duty for the party on election day.
Malema emphasized the need for those representing the organization across different voting districts to be honest when faced with challenges.
“Do not lie, do not over-impress, be honest with the organization so that we can help you where there are shortcomings. Do not be a hero, do not seek personal glorification, do not seek personal praise. Work honestly and work for the movement, and at all times tell the truth and nothing else but the truth.”
