Reza Pahlavi Says U.S.-Israeli Strikes Were a “Necessary Step”

Exiled Opposition Figure Calls for Democratic Choice on Iran’s Future

Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran’s last shah, has said that recent U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian regime targets were a “necessary step”, arguing that they helped prevent further bloodshed.

Pahlavi, an exiled Iranian opposition figure, said the military action helped level the playing field for Iranians seeking democratic change, maintaining that peaceful protests alone could not overcome a government willing to use force against its own people.

He also stressed that Iran’s future system of government whether a constitutional monarchy or a republic should be determined by the Iranian people through a free and democratic process.

Pahlavi has long advocated for political change in Iran and has repeatedly called for a transition to a democratic government through the will of the Iranian people.
