Greece is set to build a new multi-layered air and missile defence network after signing a €3 billion defence agreement with Israel, marking the largest defence deal in the history of Israel-Greece relations.
The “Achilles Shield” system will integrate Israeli-made technologies, including David’s Sling, SPYDER and BARAK MX, alongside advanced radar and command-and-control systems designed to intercept ballistic missiles, aircraft and drones.
The agreement is expected to deepen strategic and military cooperation between the two countries while significantly boosting Greece’s air defence capabilities.
