UPDATE: Israel has ordered the British Consulate in East Jerusalem to close within 30 days, escalating a diplomatic dispute with the UK over Britain’s sanctions targeting Israeli settlement activity in the occupied West Bank.
British diplomats in Ramallah and officials involved in a US-led Gaza coordination mission have also reportedly been ordered to leave.
The move comes as France and Canada join the UK in restricting goods from Israeli settlements, further straining Israel’s diplomatic ties with key Western allies.
