U.S Warns Global Firms As New Iran Aviation

U.S Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says Iranian airlines could be effectively shut out of global operations from September 23 as Washington expands its sanctions campaign against Tehran.

According to Bessent, foreign companies that provide tuel, landing services, ticketing or other support to Iranian airlines could face secondary sanctions and risk losing access to the US dollar system.

The warning follows new U.S sanctions imposed earlier this month on additional Iranian airlines and foreign companies accused of supporting Iran’s aviation sector.

Iranian carriers have long faced U.S restrictions affecting aircraft purchases, spare parts and maintenance, with the latest measures forming part of broader sanctions targeting Iran’s energy, shipping, technology, gold and digital-asset sectors.
