The Premier League has confirmed that Manchester City have been found guilty of all charges relating to serious breaches of financial rules spanning nine seasons.

An independent commission found that between the 2009/10 and 2017/18 seasons, City used “sham” commercial contracts that misrepresented agreements, allegedly inflating the club’s revenues and reducing its reported costs.

The commission found that City overstated its income by more than £830 million, with the club described as being “significantly in breach” of Premier League and UEFA rules.

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters called the case “the most significant in Premier League history.”

More than 100 charges were brought against City in February 2023, with the hearing taking place between September and December 2024.
