U.S. President Donald Trump has praised Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar following the mid-air cockpit attack aboard Flydubai Flight FZ1073.
Speaking during an Oval Office briefing, Trump said Machchhar was in “very bad shape” but still had the presence of mind to act in a way that helped save many lives after the Omani co-pilot allegedly stabbed him and attempted to crash the Boeing 737.
Trump also said he discussed the incident at length with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
