By The End Of May, The US Embassy In Ukraine Wants To Return To Kyiv

The charge d’affaires, Kristina Kvien, said in a news conference from Lviv Monday that the US embassy in Ukraine intends to return to Kyiv by the end of May if conditions allow.

“We are quite hopeful that the circumstances will allow us to return to Kyiv by the end of the month,” Kvien said.

“We pay attention to the security specialists, and when they say we may return, we will,” Kvien continued.

On February 14, just 10 days before Russia invaded Ukraine, the US decided to close the US Embassy in Kyiv and temporarily shift a small number of surviving diplomatic workers to Lviv.
