The Khayelitsha Magistrates Court heard on Wednesday that Athule Mtsha and Sithisa Masiko, the two men linked to the mass shooting in Site C, Khayelitsha, are no strangers to the law.

Mtsha and Masiko made their third court appearance, facing multiple charges, including four counts of murder and 11 counts of attempted murder. The court was informed about their previous run-ins with the law for various crimes.

Additionally, the pair appeared in court on another matter alongside four other accused. Western Cape National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila explained, “The two accused are also part of another six accused who are charged with illegal possession of a stolen vehicle. They are part of that case and it’s also been postponed.”
