Ghana’s President Urges Global Leaders To Act On Gender Equality

Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama called on the international community to move beyond rhetoric on gender equality and implement concrete measures to empower women during the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women in Beijing, China.

He voiced concern about how the current global political and economic climate could hinder women’s development, particularly in Africa. Drawing on Ghana’s national experiences, Mahama emphasized that investing in women results in considerable increases in productivity, innovation, and social cohesion.
