Following reports of tragic road crashes throughout the holiday season, authorities have encouraged motorists to exercise caution.

Obed Sibasa, the Chief Traffic Inspector for Gauteng, predicted a high volume of traffic this weekend.
“We estimate between 2,000 and 2,500 motor vehicles per hour on the N1 South from Limpopo, the N1 North from Cape Town and the Free State, the N3 North from KZN, the N4 West from Mpumalanga, and the N12 West from North West on Sunday.”
On the roadways, motorists are urged to be patient and cautious.
