South Africa: President Cyril Ramaphosa Addresses The Nation

South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa has imposed a longer curfew and placed further restrictions on gatherings across the country. Ramaphosa on Monday evening said the festive season now poses “the greatest threat to the health and well-being of our nation”. Ramaphosa said the current restrictions on the size of gatherings do not do enough to prevent crowding in the current situation where new cases are rising rapidly. Further restrictions announced, include a 100 person limit for indoor events and 250 for outdoor events. He also announced that the national curfew has been extended from 11pm to 4am.
