The Democratic Alliance (DA) is gearing up to host thousands of people at its final election rally, scheduled to take place at the Willowmoore Stadium in Benoni on Sunday afternoon.

As the party concludes its election campaign ahead of Wednesday’s election, it is making its final push for votes.
At least 15,000 DA supporters are expected to attend the gathering, with its leader, John Steenhuisen, slated to take the podium in the afternoon.

Thousands of DA supporters from various parts of the province are currently lined up outside the venue, eagerly awaiting the opening of the gates.

A convoy of buses carrying Democrats is arriving to witness the party’s final appeals to voters.

Johannesburg council speaker and DA member Vasco da Gama, who traveled to the stadium by bus alongside the party’s supporters, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in Gauteng.

“We definitely have a chance in Gauteng and in some provinces throughout South Africa. We have been battling for 30 years – our people are sitting without housing, there are no trains anymore, there are no South African aeroplanes anymore,” he said.

Steenhuisen is scheduled to address the rally at 2pm.
