Cosatu, a trade union federation, has accused the ANC of collapsing state-owned businesses (SOEs) in order to privatize them.
Following their central executive committee meeting earlier in the week, Cosatu executives spoke to the media in their Johannesburg headquarters on Thursday.
“The Post Office, Eskom, Denel, SAA, and Transnet are just a few of the state-owned enterprises (SOEs) that are being destroyed and collapsed in preparation for privatization.
Cosatu has described the government’s partnerships with the private sector at SOEs as “masked privatization,” and the federation has stated that it will not tolerate it.
According to Ntshalintshali, Cosatu believes the ANC government is aiming to privatize most SOEs by unbundling and cutting off funds to hasten their demise.
