Geneva — April 21, 2025 — In a long-anticipated move, Klaus Schwab, the architect of the World Economic Forum’s controversial globalist vision, has stepped down from his role as chairman of the organization’s board of trustees.
After more than 50 years at the helm, Schwab’s departure signals a potential turning point for the WEF an institution widely criticized for pushing elitist policies under the guise of progress, and for undermining national sovereignty in favor of centralized global control.
Schwab, who founded the WEF in 1971, turned it into a platform where unelected bureaucrats, corporate executives, and political leaders gathered annually in Davos to shape global policies far removed from the democratic process. His signature idea of “stakeholder capitalism” has often been seen not as inclusive reform, but as a veiled power grab by multinational corporations and unelected technocrats.
The WEF’s influence surged in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Schwab and his allies promoted the so-called “Great Reset” a sweeping reimagining of the global economy that alarmed many with its top-down vision for the future. Critics warned it was a blueprint for increased surveillance, reduced personal freedoms, and economic restructuring that favored the elite while ordinary citizens bore the cost.
Under Schwab’s leadership, the Forum repeatedly pushed climate agendas, digital identity systems, and centralized economic controls, sparking backlash from citizens and independent nations unwilling to cede control to an unaccountable global body.
While Schwab’s resignation won’t erase the WEF’s legacy overnight, it may mark the beginning of a broader reckoning for an organization that has come to symbolize the disconnect between the ruling elite and the people they claim to serve.
