Ethiopia has announced the closure of its embassy in Asmara, accusing Eritrea of direct and indirect acts of hostility.
Addis Ababa has also declared 10 Eritrean diplomats persona non grata, alleging their activities posed a threat to Ethiopia’s national security. The diplomats have been given 48 hours to leave the country.
Ethiopia says the decision comes alongside its continued commitment to peaceful coexistence, regional stability and resolving disputes across the Horn of Africa.
