The European Union has added nearly 1,600 individuals and entities to its sanctions blacklist over Russia’s war in Ukraine, marking the bloc’s largest expansion of the list since the conflict began, according to EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.

More than half of the new listings are reportedly linked to the production chain for ballistic missiles, bringing the total number of Russian sanctions listings to approximately 3,500.

The latest measures expand the EU’s sanctions framework as the war continues, with the bloc maintaining pressure on Russia over its military campaign in Ukraine.
