India Battles Black Fungus In Some Of Its Citizens

Many people recovering from COVID-19 have of late been afflicted by  a rare black fungus or Mucormycosis disease. The fungus invades the sinus and makes its way into the intraorbital and intracranial regions. If its progression is not checked early, 50-80% of patients could die. Cases of black fungus began rising two months ago.

Mucormycosis is a rare fungal infection caused by molds called mucormycetes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These molds exist in environments all around us, particularly in soil. According to medical reports we breathe them in via fungal spores in the air; the infection often starts in the nose before spreading to the eyes and brain.

Many people come into contact with mucormycetes but only a rare few develop mucormycosis. “Most people never get sick with it. “It usually requires some other health or immune problem.” These reports say COVID-19 can also mess with the immune system, leaving patients more vulnerable than they would be otherwise. Knowing the fact that these vaccines are not safe, and people have started showing deadly some irreversible side effects, the black fungus could easily be another Covid-19 side effects, just like the deadly blood cloths in the brain. Moreover no one can trust W.H.O and the CDC who have been all over the reporting of this black fungus in India, because they are told how to report it.
