Iran is reportedly preparing assassination plots targeting US diplomats and other American officials following US-Israeli strikes that killed Iranian officials and their family members, according to The New York Times, citing two Iranian officials.
A separate US intelligence memo has warned of increased alleged Iranian efforts to target American personnel overseas, with some plots reportedly reaching advanced stages.
Amid rising security concerns, Washington has ordered reductions in diplomatic staffing at several missions across West Asia.
President Donald Trump has also threatened renewed military action against Tehran if it fails to reach an agreement with Washington.
