Israeli Prime Minister Says Tehran Must Never Acquire Nuclear Weapons
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that some figures in Iran believe they can still “play America,” while others view U.S. President Donald Trump as too tough to confront.
Netanyahu said that, ultimately, it is Israel’s determination that will prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, reaffirming his government’s longstanding position that Iran must never be allowed to develop a nuclear bomb.
The remarks come against the backdrop of months of heightened military tensions involving Israel, the United States, and Iran, alongside continued diplomatic efforts over Tehran’s nuclear programme.
Netanyahu has repeatedly maintained that Iran must not be permitted to obtain nuclear weapons, regardless of the outcome of future negotiations or agreements.
Iran, however, continues to deny seeking to develop nuclear weapons, insisting that its nuclear programme is intended solely for peaceful civilian purposes.
