Nigeria is targeting to grow earnings from the export of coconut oil and its by-products.
The country generated 150 million US dollars from the export of the crop in 2020 and is projecting to earn 250 million US dollars this year. The crop is also a key income earner for more than half a million Nigerian households. One of the coconut oil producer, Rosemary Akwash shares her sentiments. Promise Ndindi, an Agricultural Economist also shares on how this business is beneficial to the Nigerian economy.
