President CYRIL RAMAPHOSA says women in South Africa should never have to live in FEAR OR PANIC as government steps up efforts to tackle GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AND FEMICIDE.
His remarks come amid growing concern over the murders of women in EKURHULENI, where NINE BODIES have been discovered in recent months.
Police are investigating the cases but have NOT CONFIRMED THAT THEY ARE ALL LINKED.
Ramaphosa says the killings form part of the wider GBVF CRISIS facing South Africa and has directed law-enforcement agencies to give the Ekurhuleni investigations the HIGHEST LEVEL OF ATTENTION.
