U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the Trump administration is imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC), escalating Washington’s dispute with the institution over its authority and actions involving American and allied interests.
Rubio says the move is intended to pressure U.S. allies within the court to pursue solutions that would permanently end what the administration describes as a threat to American sovereignty.
