Rwanda is exploring Zimbabwe’s waste management model as both countries seek sustainable solutions that turn waste into valuable resources. A delegation led by the Rwanda Housing Authority visited Harare’s GeoPomona facility to assess its waste-processing and energy-generation operations, with officials considering how the model could be adapted for Rwanda.
The engagement builds on a 2023 cooperation agreement covering affordable housing, new technologies and alternative building materials. Zimbabwe is also expanding its regional footprint, with GeoPomona signing a separate memorandum of understanding with Botswana to strengthen cooperation in waste management.
