Trump Administration Ends Agreements Protecting Transgender Students

The U.S. Department of Education has terminated agreements with five school districts and a college that upheld protections for transgender students, including:

Faculty training on respecting students’ preferred names & pronouns 
Allowing students to use bathrooms that align with their gender identity 

Previous administrations under Biden and Obama interpreted Title IX to include protections for transgender and gay students. The Trump administration has reversed this, filing lawsuits in California and Minnesota over policies allowing transgender students to participate in sports
