US President Donald Trump says the war with Iran will end “very quickly”, while predicting that oil prices will “come tumbling down.”
But Tehran is showing no sign of accepting Washington’s terms.
Iran has rejected US demands for sweeping restrictions on its nuclear programme, insisting that any negotiations must be built on mutual respect, fairness and an end to military and economic pressure.
The message from Tehran is clear: no deal on Washington’s terms.
With Trump projecting confidence that the conflict can be brought to a swift end, Iran is demanding that negotiations be conducted on terms it considers fair — setting the stage for a major standoff over what comes next.
As the war continues, the battle is no longer only being fought on the ground. Washington and Tehran remain sharply divided over the conditions for ending the conflict and returning to the negotiating table.
