President Says Diplomacy Given Chance as Tehran Warns Against U.S. Action
U.S. President Donald Trump says he will hold off on launching any new military strikes against Iran in the hope that ongoing diplomatic efforts will produce a swift agreement.
Speaking to reporters, Trump indicated that he remains committed to pursuing a negotiated solution but stressed that all options remain available should diplomacy fail.
The remarks come amid continued tensions between Washington and Tehran following weeks of military escalation and renewed efforts to reach an agreement over Iran’s nuclear programme and regional security.
Meanwhile, Iran warned this weekend against what it described as any “adventurous action” by the United States, cautioning that further military intervention could have serious consequences for regional stability.
Despite the warning, both sides have continued indirect diplomatic engagement, with international mediators urging restraint and encouraging negotiations aimed at preventing a broader conflict in the Middle East.
The latest developments suggest that while military tensions remain high, both Washington and Tehran are leaving the door open for a diplomatic resolution.
