David Makhura, a former premier of Gauteng, is once more under fire as some of the families of the victims of the Life Esidimeni continue to demand that authorities accept responsibility.
At many points throughout the Life Esidimeni inquest hearing at the Pretoria High Court, Makhura’s name was brought to attention.
A criminal investigation will be conducted to discover if anyone is to blame for the deaths of more than 140 psychiatric patients who were transferred to inadequate non-governmental organizations from the facility.
